Print Art Work Guidelines

Home 2112 Direct Marketing Services Printing Services Print Art Work Guidelines

File Types

Artwork supplied for print should be a high resolution PDF or other type of image file, such as JPG or PNG.  The higher the resolution the better, especially when printing large format, such as posters and banners.  Low resolution images will result in a pixelated print.

Format

All artwork should have a 3mm “bleed” area around the it.  A ‘bleed’ area is an area that is likely to be cut off when it is printed and should, therefore, not contain anything that needs to be in the final leaflet.  This means that you need to add 3mm all around the design for the final artwork.  Example: the final size of an A5 leaflet is 210mm x 148mm. The size for the art work with a 2mm bleed would be 214mm x 152mm.

The table and below shows the size in both millimetres and inches of the standard print formats for both leaflets to posters.
